WHAT WE BELIEVE

"What we believe really matters, doctrines really matter" Pastor C

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Faith Community Church of the Ozarks based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who is three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The Bible is God's Inspired Word

We believe that the Bible is the only inspired Word of God. It is the information that we have about God and His character. All of God's instruction for mankind is in His Word and we can derive all needed information about God and how to get close to Him and what we can expect Him to do for us from the Bible. The plan for mankind is complete in the Bible and all we need to do is to read it and do what we read.

The Core of Salvation

We believe that there is only one way to the Father and His name is Jesus. Jesus is the door that mankind walks through to get to Heaven. Jesus says that He is the way, the truth, and the life. In the Gospel He says that we must be born again. The born again experience happens when we accept what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary. When we believe with our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord  and God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. We cannot become Christians any other way. Also, there is no other name by which men must be saved,

Baptism in the Spirit

We also believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a subsequent experience to salvation that every believer can receive from God. The power of God is something that comes along with this baptism as we see in Act 1:8, "Behold you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you".  Acts 2:4 tells us that "They were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak as the Spirit gave them utterance".

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification , it is an ongoing work of grace, beginning at the time of salvation and continuing the rest of our life.

Water Baptism

We believe in a baptism by immersion and we believe it should be observed by all who have been born again. It is an outward sign of an inward grace. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to a newness of life.

Communion

We believe and follow our Lord’s command to faithfully remember Christ’s work on the cross in communion. There is power in His  cleansing blood and broken body with the elements of Holy Communion.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, the temple of the Living God made up of both Jew and Gentile. The church is the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the plan of God in the Earth.

The Resurrection

Jesus is coming again to gather all His saints to Heaven. The angels said to Jesus’ disciples, “…this same Jesus…shall come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “…the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…” We believe in a pre tribulation rapture.

Human Sexuality

We believe that God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family, the basic structure of human society (Genesis 2:24). God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of the context of marriage between a man and a woman. Hence, sexual activities such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, pedophilia, and bestiality are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible, the Church, and a Christian life. We stand fast on the scriptures in Romans 1:25-27, I Corinthians 6:9-11, and I Timothy 1:9-10 and believe that homosexuality is a sin. We determine to show compassion to all, with however, no compromise.
Accordingly, this church, shall not conduct any marriages between persons of the same sex and shall not condone, support, or facilitate any activities which conflict with this tenet of faith.
